Pack 107 Cub Scout Programs
Cub Scout Pack 107 is one of the Indianapolis area Cub Scout Packs. Our chartered organization is Franklin Township Bunker Hill PTO.
Here is an explanation of how Cub Scouts works. Our group is called a Cub Scout Pack. The pack is made up of first through fifth grade boys that are then divided into several Dens. A den is a group of 5 to 10 boys that are all the same rank. There are 4 ranks in Cub Scouts. The ranks are Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos.
First grade boys start as Tigers. All of the boys in their den are also Tigers and they follow a program that is designed for first graders.
The Wolf rank is for second grade boys. They belong to a Wolf Den and follow a program that is designed for second grade boys.
Third grade boys would be Bears. They are in a den with other third graders and the program they follow is for their grade as well.
Both fourth and fifth grade boys are Webelos rank. Their den (or patrol) would be made up of boys in their same grade. The Webelos program is used through fourth grade and in february of fifth grade the scout should be graduating or planning to graduate into Boy Scouts.
Once a month, usually the third Tuesday of the month, we meet together as a pack. This is when we hand out awards, do skits, sing songs and just have a good old time all together as one big group. The rest of the weekly meetings are with a den and these meetings can be used to do the fun things needed to earn awards, play games, make crafts, practice songs or skits for the pack meeting and etc.
Pack 107 is run by the families of the boys in our pack. Once a month, on the first Sunday of the month, we have a committee meeting. We ask that one (or more) adult representitive from each family attend so that we can have the best program for everyone in our group. We always try to include the whole family in all of our activities!
Overall, the Cub Scouts program is designed for our boys to have fun while they become good citizens, good family members and leaders.
