Terminology

  • BSA – Boys Scouts of America
  • Pack – A Pack is a group of families from the same school, area of schools, church or neighborhood.
  • Dens - The scouts are divided by age groups into Dens.  Dens work on the same requirements together.
  • Den Leader - An adult volunteer who helps guide scouts in a particular Den to attain the requirements for their particular level of the program.
  • Cubmaster – An adult volunteer who is responsible for ensuring the scouts are experiencing the program as laid out by the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Pack Committee – A group of adult volunteers, led by the Committee Chair, who provide support to the Cubmaster and Den Leaders, helping them with resources, finances from Pack funds, and other assistance as required.
Each level of the program has a name, which is based on the year of school the scout is enrolled in:
  • Lion Den – Kindergartners
  • Tiger Den – 1st Graders
  • Wolf Den – 2nd Graders
  • Bear Den – 3rd Graders
  • Webelos – 4th and 5th Graders

5th Grade Webelos work on the "Arrow of Light", an award that they can wear proudly on their uniform throughout their scouting experience as a Scout in Scouts BSA and as an adult.

Parental Involvement

Our Pack is run 100% by volunteers and parents just like you.  The Leaders in our Pack are unpaid volunteers.

If you do not want to be a leader, that is fine, but your help would be greatly appreciated.  Someone within your Den will have to be the Leader, however, your involvement is needed in other ways. Whether you're teaching the kids how to pitch a tent or tie a knot, your participation matters!

Ask your Den Leader or a Pack Committee member at a pack event (generally adults found in uniform) how you can assist.

Who is Pack 107?

The official Boy Scouts of America charter for Pack 107 is "Parents of Canyon View Elementary School".

We are a parent-run pack, meaning our Pack is owned and run by parents and volunteers - we do not have a faith based or other organization over top of us - we're non-denominational and rely on the families to apply their own religious beliefs to the program. This structure allows us maximum flexibility in how we operate our program.

Pack 107 merged with Pack 108 a few years ago, and we have existed in north Tucson for over 27 years!

Our charter has grown to accept students throughout the Catalina Foothills district and north Tucson. We have scouts from Canyon View and Ventana Vista Elementary Schools, and will happily accept scouts from other schools at their request.

We camp at least twice a year as a pack - siblings are invited to join in on the fun as well!
